ADSL Speedtouch PPPOA3 TUN/TAP Problem

Hi,

I have a Mandrake 10.0 Official distribution and I want to connect my PC to the internet by ADSL Alcatel Speedtouch modem. The modem is connected via USB port. I founded many tutorials how to establish connection, and of course I followed them step by step. The problem is that after turning on TUN/TAP Driver by command

# mdprobe tun

I try to start pppoa3:

# pppoa3 -b -k -vpi 1 -vci 32

and it returns tap0.

But the tap0 is not in the device directory! /dev/tap0 not found

so I cannot execute

ifconfig tap0 up

Many thanksf for help

Ok, I've just got it working. From a recent install I:

Installed the speedtouch userspace .rpm from the CDs (I think this installs libatm). NB We're not using the kernelspace module/driver solution.
Copied the boot and firmware microcode files from my ISP's CD to /usr/share/speedtouch/ (copied/symlinked ZZZLP2.eni to mgmt.o).
Set the correct details in /etc/ppp/peers/adsl (eg. -vpi 0 -vci 38). Also put the correct details in /etc/ppp/pap-secrets and chat-secrets.
Ran modem_run -v 2 -a /usr/share/speedtouch/ZZLP1.eni -f /usr/share/speedtouch/mgmt.o
Ran pppd call adsl
Ifconfig -a now shows ppp0 and my ADSL is working.
