TUN TAP for non-Redhat Machine

Hello!

Does anyone have some advice on installing TUN TAP for MAndrake 10? When I go to the site at :

http://vtun.sourceforge.net/tun/index.html

It has RPM's for redhat and also the source code. I'd prefer to use a packet manager, becasue when I try to use the source, it says it can't find my soucre in /usr/linux.

It should be a option when you compile your kernel. I think it says tun/tap support under the networking section.

I coudn't find anything in the "configure my machine " control panel, but here's the deal:

I'm trying to use the source with the command:

> ./configure

but it says:

configure: error: Linux kernel source not found in /usr/src/linux
configure: error: ./configure failed for linux

Is there and RPM for Mandrake 10 or better yet, how do I fix the error?

When I tried the rpm, it said:

warning: user bishop does not exist - using root
warning: group bishop does not exist - using root
warning: user bishop does not exist - using root
warning: group bishop does not exist - using root

Can I check and do this from X windows?

If not, how do I do this from the console?
