Imho, LQ is awesome since it's the /home of people using different distributions. There is no bias or inferiority towards distro X and it's users. People are friendly and experienced and matured. I have learnt a lot from the LQ users and I can say that even though I'm active in many forums/irc, I love hanging out here the most!

I have to say that when I signed up back in March [I had been using LQ since October 2008, but didn't sign up], I though I would never see myself spending my hours learning more about Linux. I knew I might ask a question here or there, but I have begun to spend much time looking for people to help. LQ is a truly great community.
And to think, this forum I use everyday, was started by trying to get the ol' BCM4318 driver to work
We've got a good balance of experts and beginners. There are some places where it's a case of the blind leading the blind, and others where beginners get incomprehensible answers or scorn.
It's awesome because it's got some awesome members.
Do I smell sarcasm?
Personally, I think the governing body makes LQ what it is. Using Google, I've stumbled onto some forums where, obviously, there were no mods to help enforce rules. WOW, what a mess! Nothing more than rude, arrogant, and hateful replies to newbies for "asking a stupid question". That's not a help forum, IMHO, and may very well be one reason why so many give up on Linux so easily, or won't even bother to try it. Just my
Kudos to Jeremy and the mods for such a great forum. Thank you!
Cheers

dragonslayer48dx - dude, far too many vowels in there. The Rules state (access to the extra rules is not granted to members) that you can't use that many vowels unless you 5000 posts or are a mod. Ah well, its the season of goodwill so I won't ban you, I'll just move all your posts to General so you have to start again
