LQ does not do avatars. This has been asked for many many times and the answer is always the same: we do not now, nor will we ever, allow avatars to be used on the site. LQ strives to present a professional front and avatars will remove that.

Normally, in these discussions, the OP tends to then argue for having an avatar. Kudos on not doing that

CLARIFICATION: LQ as a whole does not do avatars, but our kind, and glorious leader gets special priveleges. So really all we need to do is stage a coup, and then we can have avatars

stage a coup? why would we want to do that?

I hate it on other sites- having to pick an avatar!

what's the CP? oh. control panel.

Kudos again for accepting precedent!

I am really getting to like forums that do not have avatars and especially banners.

Emoticons are OK though.

Jeremy gets an avatar because he is a fatherly dictator

Anyway, the people have spoken and there will be no avatars (and if the people change their minds, there will still be no avatars!)
