I agree, the forum link is a little hard to see if you don't know its there- and you don't notice when you know where it is.

Ditto from me, but the problem with enlarging the size of the word is it ends up not looking the same as the rest of the page which is a bit jarring. Do you have any suggestions as to how the word can be more prominent without breaking up the page??

Make it a simple intro page with large bold fonts such as

Forums

New Listings

Original Front Page

Of course put LinuxQuestions.Org centered at the top

You could make it a little more complicated and only show to members over the age of fifty.

Yes, but then when we hit 60 you'd have to go back to the simple page -- not to compensate for lack of comprehension, but the increasing font sizes we use to overcome our declining eyesight.

Since only Newbies actually to to the front page, I would make the "Rules" link large, and clicking the Forums button from there would take them first to a brief introduction encouraging them to post only once (in the correct forum), not "Which distro," to use the "Look for similar threads" button, and an admonition to glance through the stickies.

I think it is fine the way it is. (I also see no problems with pages being too cluttered)

On any forum, you need to learn your way around. At least here, it does not take much effort to find where things are.

The forums link is sized right in my opinion. What gets me is the linuxquestions.org logo(4 penguins with the question marks). Under the logo it says linuxquestions.org. which says to me. If you click on this picture it will take you to http://www.linuxquestions.org. But instead it takes you to http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/index.php. The problem is.... I like to browse by the NEW POST link, so that I can see what new posts are active. That link only appears on http://www.linuxquestions.org/. So if you want to browse by NEW POSTS you have to remove everything after .org to bring you back to the home page. Just a slight inconvenience. Great site otherwise!

ncsuapex - Quick Links -> View New Posts should get you what you're looking for.
