I'm not as bad as I used to be, I'm mellowing with age.
EDIT
Sorry, Jeremy. Will stay on topic from now on.

I've covered #'s 1 and 2 multiple times now. At this time, #3 has no impact and a negative rep deducts exactly half what a positive rep would add.

Question:

My reputation was 55 and now it is 56 ! One post has been clicked "helpful" .
so shouldn't the reputation be now 60 ? As per the following rule:

Quote:
Yes" votes to "Did you find this post helpful?" will now increase a members rep, but will do so by 50% of what manually positively repping them would have.

No, it shouldn't be 60, 56 is correct.

To reiterate (from http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ml#post4079653), since it seems to be coming up quite a bit:

The amount of reputation you give is variable, and is based on a variety of factors including length of membership, number of posts, current reputation, etc.

As a net beneficiary of the new system, I shouldn't complain, but I would have thought the best approach could have been derived from existing site data in this way: the ratio between a member's total number of postings and the number of those for which he has been thanked (or found "helpful") calculated and expressed as a simple percentage?
