Alright...I get the point. I now have a reputation here that is independent of Jeremy's system.

Seriously though, can we not have the personal banter leaking out here into the forums? Besides, it's not like I was getting worried over why I had 30 points vs. your guys' 45, I was just noticing the difference and found it a little odd, that's all.

We don't know all the details yet. Like Jeremy said, it's being implemented in stages.

That's right and the last stage will be total annihilation of LQ members.

The value of my reputation at the moment is expressed as an irrational number.

On a serious note, I'm looking forward to the system being fully implemented so that I could see the whole picture.

As I understood it the from posts #23 and #90 the initial count is based on duration of membership and post count.

Kind regards,

Eric

If that is true then how come has he got initial count same as ours. He has more posts than ours and has been here for longer as well. Too long to say.

When I first saw 45, I thought it had estimated my IQ.

As from post #90:
Quote:
I've seeded some existing members with a tiered amount of rep based on post count/time of membership/etc
So I imagine Jeremy just put in a 'basic' level to test its working before putting in place the actual 'calculation'

Kind regards,

Eric

hehehe ... I know we have not spoke much before brianL but I am very happy to see someone with a sense of humour.
Often times I have been chided for my sense of humour even though it was meant with best intentions

That's one thing we're not short of in the North of England, a sense of humour.

I'm not entirely happy with this new rep system. It is bound to discriminate against members who are a bit clueless. For instance I'm sure my rectangle is a lighter shade of green than Brian's.

But not Completely Clueless?
EDIT
No, it looks the same shade of green to me. But I am partially red-green colour blind...
