It's unlikely we'll use any poll questions that were in the Members Choice Awards for these, but it's possible that could change based on feedback.

Possible Poll Suggestions

Thinking further - possibly a way of us gaining an extra insight into hardware compatability we could have polls on things such as:

1a What printer do you use?
1b Rate it for compatability 1 to 5

2a What SDD do you use?
2b Rate it for compatability 1 to 5

3a What Scanner do you use?
3b Rate it for compatibility 1 to 5

I think you get the idea.

With hardware changing so much and with older models being dropped it becomes a bit of a nightmare at times to buy hardware, especially for the not exactly
general hardware, such as Slide Scanners, USB3 PCI cards and the like. I also find Web Cameras are an unpredictable beast when it comes to getting a decent
bit of kit for my Linux box.

Just a thought!

..Phil

That's a good topic and I've seen a few threads like that circulating around but I'm not sure it's a good base for a POLL. There are just too many possible options to be considered.

"Seemingly anybody with a pulse" is who Fox News hires.

Talking Need:

I, as others, have thought this many times; why (when I need to) can't I vote for more than one? It would only give better results...

Edit:
Thanks for the feedback. As you've noticed, some polls (such as "Which Linux Architecture Do You Use") do allow for multiple selections.

I would be interested in poll and thread about embedded or firmware based Linux use. These are generally focused around a particular use or application. Some of the distributions and applications I have seen include DD-WRT, OpenWrt, Tomato, BusyBox, Asterisk, unRAID, Plex, XMBC, and others. The purpose of these configurations range from enhanced router (wired and wireless) or firewall functions, media server and streaming, file servers, remote access, telephony, and more specialized applications. Popular hardware these are installed on cross many consumer product lines like routers (i.e. Linksys WRT54G) and various NAS devices. This was a quick post and I am sure there are many more applications and devices I have not mentioned here.

Not sure how to poll or ask an idea I've had for a while now, here (too lazy for what seems so complex) but how do people decide what posts (topics) to reply or even read i.e. 'Zero Replies' or, like when I started, only the 'Linux - Newbie' form... I learn more when I go through all of LQ and even more when trying to dig up answers where I have none but interest me?

Hi Jeremy what about a poll on what internet connection folks are using (3G, ADSL, the old telephone line), and the reasons why.

Regards
Philip

I have started what I find an interesting poll in the "Linux - Hardware" section, not sure if we can add to or change a poll after creating it but any feedback (equally votes) would be welcomed:
