I'm wondering if linuxquestions.org would have an address at lq.org (litteraly) at one point, another Domain Name...

just wondering.

You can no longer register two letter domains.. I think it's two letter and one letter.. the one's who have them now get to keep them as they registered them before this change took place..

how come windowsquestions is linked to linuxquestions?

just our of curiosity, I dig-ed LQ and WQ, same IP...

ummm... but LQ is not a windows place... :S

it's a joke- the answer to all your windows questions is to install linux.

so yeah, jeremy registered it as a joke like.

It was a joke from around 1-2 years ago. There was a discussion about having a Windows site, so Jeremy registered the name and pointed it back at LQ. You had to have been there

He's actually had it since the beginning.. well a few months after LQ.org got kicked off.. has many other domains that point back to LQ as well..

I missed a lot, although I was there when LQ turned 4...

LQ.org was kicked off? when? how?

I think he's just short typing linuxquestions.org... as LQ.org

- it was a late at night. jeremy was hungry, and thought about the chicken leftovers in his fridge. Then the thought occured to him: why not start a forum where linux users could come for help?
The story as related above is entirely fictional...

Kicked off.. a figure of speech entailing when it was started, born, risen up from.. however or whatever you want to call it..

I was thinking about "kicked off" as you would do with a spammer in IRC.

Last time I checked you can't get kicked off the internet for running a website.. only if its breaking the law..
