LinuxQuestions.org will be in the .Org Village at LWE UK
I am happy to announce that LinuxQuestions.org will be in the .Org Village for the upcoming LinuxWorld in London. I am hoping to make the trip myself, but the airfare is extremely expensive at this time, so it may unfortunately not be possible. As I mentioned earlier, all donations and contributing member funds received between now and the expo will go toward our costs. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your support.

BTW, I'd like to thank Brian and uklinux.net for sponsoring the .Org Village and making our attendance possible.

Just out of curiosity, if you can't make the event Jeremy, who will be representing Linuxquestions.org at LWE UK?
Cheers,
Steve

I don't have a full list quite yet, but LQ will be in the .Org whether I make the trip or not. So far David and Chris are in, but I'd not be surprised if the LQ booth is full I'm doing my best to make the trip and should know for sure over the next couple of days.

Paris
Bon Voyage!
Remember, Paris is only a few hours away from London by train...
So, make sure you take your credit card, cause VISA is accepted round
the world, and even good for getting cash...
George
P.S: French chicks are tight.

Just wanted to update everyone on this - I just booked my flight and will be making the trip to the UK. I want to thank the members that have donated so far. We're still not even close to covering the costs associated with the trip though, so any contribution would still be much appreciated. See you in the UK!

cool dude
Well, I'm glad that you are going to GB.
I had this cool-ass idea dude:
One could easily create a website called
trueinstitutions.com
that would have a similar format as linuxquestions.org
readers could rant and rave about universities, companies and other
now, I think that Universities would be a top candidate
they could receive grades based on
several factors that influences one's education
so this could end up being like a rival of us news and world report
now, the site could be supported by several software companies
like
Linux & Open source
whoever makes Matlab
Autodesk and others
the first step would be to get lots of traffic...
you guys seem to have an edge on that...
the funding abilities would be endless...
think of all the institutions that want to have a good reputation
and would pay a little $ to look good...
anyway, just an idea, but if anyone wants to really work on it
the idea is there and I don't desire credit for it
George
