Just a quick note that this has never happened to me and I've only ever seen it happen once or twice in all the time I've been posting.
Edit: I was intending to post the above twice quickly in succession for the purposes of amusement but the forum stopped me with a "This post is a duplicate of a post that you have posted in the last five minutes." message.
Double posts seem to happen a lot more frequently here than on other forums. Has there been any effort made to look into why?
Do you mean members cross posting, or accidental double taps cause true repeats of the same post?

^^ On the subject of learning something new everyday ...
In truth I have seen a few reports from members where they have repeat posted for some reason and typically they hit report to ask that their repeat be removed. But not a lot of it.
As far as newbies, there are cases, where a new member attempts to post their first question in a technical forum, it gets held for moderation, and then they attempt to repeat their post one or more tries. I don't know if you can see in your forum view that there were those repeats and that they were removed, however if you can, those are typically what they are, which is/was a new member trying their first post over and over and not understanding that the very first one needed to get approved and subsequently we delete the other ones.

Thanks for the feedback. There is one known condition that will cause a double post, but it is only triggered a small number of times. The root cause will be addressed in the next version of the code.
I think it was Chromium I was using where it gets stupid and does not post in here like Firefox does, it does some stupid sh&# and resets itself and ends up causing me to post twice. I forget the actual events that take place because I do not like using Chromium. it is only a I have to case scenario. Only that when I did use it and tried posting in here it does that stupid move and resets or whatever and I ended up posting twice as a direct result of it.

Repeats of the same post.
I'm actually not sure if the cause is always accidental double taps.
