Double posts

How about having a pop-up window or such like for your first 5 posts telling people not to post the same question on multiple forums. I presume that like me, all regulars click 'view new posts'...

That would be cool I think... make it a default window until they get passed a certain number of post or thier first post, maybe when they sign up have like 100 Font lettering telling them not to double post on a welcome screen or something... it would all be good.

Or we could just do what humans use to do.. and drag them out in the street, beat or stone them. We use to be a ignorant race, us humans we can be so silly.

OK, but worse than double posts has to be when someone posts, you answer (after spending 30 minutes reminding yourself how to write shell script) and then they ask the same question 4 hours later.... GRRRR

Why the past tense? You're in Texas!

And i'm positive it should be 'used', not 'use' :^)

yep... either that, or everyone has a licensed concealed weapon and takes matters into their own hands.

how 'bout, instead of a few polite notices, we put up a huge banner that says "CROSS-POST AND DIE!!!!"

..and maybe a few bloody knives for effect.

Any sign of it yet?

Unsuprisingly, each new person doesn't nkow to not double post.... so it's not like it'll go away...

Or, we could have a system like they have in primary schools, but in reverse! Instead of getting a gold-star when you're good, you could get a black-star everytime you double post.

Oh, that would bring back some memories...

I feel partially responsible for this agnst, the second post I have ever done in a forum was done here just a couple of days ago. ONe of you was polite enough to let me know not to. But every newbie can't have such luck. Definately trickykid's idea of 100 font lettering saying not to post would've let me know.

...oh and thanks for not stringing me up or stoning me!
