What is the difference between a 940-0024C and 940-0024D APC UPS cable?

I am using Red Hat 7.3 and APCUPSD-3.10.18-1.0.rh7.rf and when the 940-0024D cable from APC is used, it shuts down the pc and I struggle to get the UPS monitoring going. When a 940-0024C APC cable is used it does the monitoring and works fine. I opened the D-type cable and have its pinouts and it is the same as a diagram of the pinouts of the C-type cable. Any ideas about what to do. I setup the monitoring for simple, still it gives me trouble.
