Been using Linux since 2000. I went to a installfest (do they even have those anymore?), got Mandrake Linux on an install iso, installed on an old Packer Bell and spent hours typing commands from the CLI. I remember I got another computer and installed Linux on that I was amazed when I ssh'ed into it, ran commands. Also moved a .tgz file, unpacked it, and installed software.
At the time, I was in grad school (info sec mngt), however I was trying to turn my passion/hobby into a career. Unfortunately, there weren't too many Linux jobs where I was living at the time (Omaha, NEB.), or if they were, the bar was set too high.
Anyways, fast forward to now, I now live in SATX and working as a Linux System Administrator, trying to improve my skills and knowledge. Also trying to answer questions here on this site as well.
