No, not OK. The idea is to help other people and by doing so gain access to other functionality. LQ will not "punish" those who choose to be egotistical about things but I definitely frown upon it.

But most members' first post/s is a/are question/s and that's fair enough especially if they are new to Linux. Every sympathy for the thinking behind the rule but is it pragmatic?

LQ essentially is a huge knowledge base so asking questions is cool always.
Some rules were made for instance to keep spammers at bay.
Loophole or not, deliberate evasion of rules is not cool.
