first I'd like to say hello as a newbie on the board. Just recently i have released i have a new found ability as an advanced programmer in a natural form. i guess this was given to me from the day I was born which I have managed to use throughout my life. I see things differently to most people which now helps me form a great understanding on whats happening around me. I would love to take this a step further and ask the board for tips on helping me progress this natural gift into a possible software program. Two questions:

I'm not saying i'm the greatest programmer but i am a step ahead of the most, i just need to share this skill with like minded individuals.

1. Is it possible to use this programming awareness in such a way?

2. Can i be of use to anyone on the linux empire?

WOW! Good for you! A natural talent who is going to overwhelm us all! Without any training or experience he is an "advanced" programmer!!!!!!

I guess those of us here with very high IQs, substantial natural ability, and lots of training and experience should just step aside and let you ROCK!!

You want to help? Start by getting over yourself. Regardless of your "talent", without experience you are NOT - let me repeat this with emphasis - NOT an "advanced programmer". With the attitude you display, you may be certain that I would not want you on my team; as such an obviously superior type, you would be unwilling to take direction and perish the thought that I should ever criticize your work.

"Advanced" programmers or developers (there is a difference - do you understand that?) are always learning, and always recognize that the person they are speaking to may know more than they do about any particular subject and may have something to teach them.

Truly "advanced" developers don't tell people they are "a step ahead of others". They just do their job, deliver their products, and wait for people to figure it out (they always do) and come to them for help. They also are always willing to learn from others.

Those who trumpet their superiority to the world merely come across as arrogant pr!cks, and very seldom are nearly as impressive to others as they are to themselves.

Yeah, just write some device drivers to support some broken wireless chipsets and submit them to the kernel team, and write working drivers for lexmark 3 in 1 printers and submit them to the CUPS/SANE teams.

Then you can reverse engineer the skype protocol and write an open source gtk2 client. Also contribute some patches to address poorly supported programs in wine, specifically Autoroute

Rewrite the Linux kernel in LOLcode.

Advanced" programmers or developers? it seems we are fighting for the most advanced programmers in life to improve the situation outside not sat inf front of the keyboard allday, everyday. Maybe the advanced programmer can helped the devolped.

I'm soory if i sound ignorant but been used for power everyday isn't the best job although it does open many doors. Not to mention the things you find along the way while developing.

RMS taught himself calculus in the 3rd grade. Some people do have natural talents. Maybe PinkDown an list some of his programming accomplishments.
