Thumbs up Just a quick introduction and hello

Greetings and hello from a linux user in Florida. I on a win-dose system of one sort or another (3.1, 95, 98, XP, XPpro) for the past ten years, and I was blown away when I saw the speed and reliability of linux. I made the switch to linux fedora core 1 about a year ago. (I was impressed when I saw it running on a friends system.) I have nothing but good things to say about linux, but I do have one question that I would like some feedback on. Which of the linux distros is the best and why. Thank you for this information in advance.

Welcome to LQ

The "which is best" question is entirely subjective and has been asked over and over again on LQ, try a search - and then spend 3 days reading!

Welcome to LQ!

I'd recommend you to browse the Linux-Distributions forum. Questions 'which distro is best' or 'which one to choose' are posted there and you can find probably all reasons for and against most popular distros. You can also look at the reviews section (http://www.linuxquestions.org/reviews/index.php?cat=2)
