Intro from Linux Newbi

Hi, there. I'm a 23+ year IT pro, who has most of my experience in the Windows world. Currently, I work in IT security for a local hospital. I'm a new Linux user, with a newly installed and updated Mint 18.3 system in my office next to the Windows box. I am moving over to the Linux side, using the Mint box for everything I possibly can. I'm looking forward to learning more about Linux and how to run, manage, administer, and maintain it.

I live outside Atlanta, GA. My hobbies include amateur radio, college football, and home-brewing beer.

Thanks.

Howdy! Welcome to LQ.

Might consider starting with OpenSuse or CentOS. If you were to run those in a commercial setting you'd be one step ahead maybe.

+1 openSUSE Leap and CentOS closely follow their enterprise counterparts. Or perhaps a bit of Debian or Ubuntu LTS - they are big out there too
