Hoping to reduce my ignorance here

Howdy all,

I've created the username dinoprogrammer for myself because I feel like somewhat like a dinosaur. I started programming in 1973 on a 10 character per second teletype connected to an HP 2000e timeshare system. I've picked up various languages over the years but have never really picked up shell programming. That's my main focus here but I'm sure I have lots of other things to learn about Linux.

I know enough about Linux to be dangerous and worked at a company where our product was built on a Linux server. I've got Fedora 17 on my home laptop and I'm trying to increase my knowledge and decrease my ignorance.

Hello and Welcome

There is much to learn about Linux for anyone, so please don't feel you're somehow deficient. You're not.

Regards...
