wireless-tools question

im using a lucent wavelan .11b card which uses the hermes chipset.
i can connect to ap's, i can get stats to that connection from /proc/net/wireless and wavemon also shows them.

what i cant do is get a list of ap's. it says the interface does not have the list.
im using the 2.4.22 kernel which i compiled today, and the pcmcia source package.

also, iwspy says "no statistics to collect".

anyone have any ideas about this?

also, the driver does support scanning and listing of ap's, right?

thanks in advance.

if anyone here is using a wlan pc-card, and they got iwspy working, could you tell me if there was anything you had to manually set or some config file to be edited for it to start wokring?

this is annoying cos i got things working and ap lists scanned on another pc-card which isnt supported in the kernel, and now im using something that is, and it doesnt woek.
