wireless card not recognized? drivers installed using ndiswrapper

ok- i have been trying to install a wireless network card (motorola WN825G) for a few weeks without success.

using ndiswrapper-
couldn't install driver bcmwl5.inf, but installed correctly bcmwl5a

but "ndiswrapper -l" yields:
installed ndis drivers:
bcmw15a present

although in reading other posts about similar problems i think that it should say "hardware present" also.

after "modprobe ndiswrapper" and "iwconfig" i get:
lo no wireless extensions
eth0 no wireless extensions
sit0 no wireless extensions

although i'm not too sure what i'm looking for- directly after "modprobe ndiswrapper" i typed "lsmod" and got "ndiswrapper (size) 60792 (used by)0" i am assuming that if it were working that i wouldn't get a zero returned there.

any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,

John

oh- and if it helps i am using suse 9.1 personal

ndiswrapper should return a status that says something about the driver AND a piece of hardware. The reply you posted here is incomplete. Try using a different driver, like the plain 5 version.

I am having the same problem with the same driver install. But my difference is that I am using the bcmwl5a.inf file instead. Somewhere on here I got the instruction, but still not there yet.

I got it to install using ndiswrapper, and it sees the driver and it also see the hardware. But doing a iwconfig it shows:

lo no wireless extensions
eth0 no wireless extensions
sit0 no wireless extensions

any help would be appreciated (had to get my USB stick to work first before I could tackle the wireless adapter - due to the stupid laptop had no floopy, and I was not able to make a fat partition for some odd reason)
