I am extreamly n00bie to linux so please forgive me if i ask some stupid questions.

ok, so i brought a crappy 10er wireless card offa ebay, im running Slackware 12.0. when on my desktop my kWiFimanager say's im connected, yet when i go onto anything interweb related i still get no connection..

anyone have any ideas on what this could be?

You can be associated with an access point, but still not have internet access. The router must give you an IP address if you are running DHCP on the router.

Without knowing the wifi card model and version number or what driver you are using, it's hard to give you specific information.

You need to review Slackware docs and see how to issue request for IP address. There are a couple of different programs used for this, and I don't know anything about Slackware specifics.

The output of ifconfig and perhaps iwconfig (if installed) might be helpful.
