Hey all, I installed slackware this morning and spent today getting my wifi card to work its Belkin FSD7010 anyway, after a few hours I manged to sort that out and now the Lights on my card come on and I'm connected to the network I can ping a the other computer on the network and even access the web interface for my router which is a "Netgear DG834G". My problem I cannot seem to access any sites other than the web interface provided by the router. I think its a DNS issue, I have the gateway address, dns server of my isp (aol broadband) is that what I need to include in resolv.conf
It's syntax is like this isnt it?
Code:
name server IPADDRESSOFDNS
search host
I'm abit unsure about this because I thought it would be possible to use any network if I specified the ESSID of that network, maybe I was wrong? I'm just a bit confused about it all to tell you the truth, also, my router says DHCP is enabled yet I have to use
Code:
ifconfig wlan0 192.168.0.3
and assign the addess myself.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance
