Hi Linux Community,
Karloslambchop here again...
I have been tempted away from Ubuntu 5.10 and decided to install Ubuntu 6.10...
As I had previously got my wifi card (Broadcom, Dell 1450) card working on Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy Badger.
by following this link:
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthre...hlight=headers
I thought there would e no real hang ups? Or so I thought?
After installing Ubuntu 6.10 I noticed interface eth1 was created but not active. It would not activate and there was no sign of a native driver installed when running lsmod.
So I set about doing the instructions described in the above link by using ndiswrapper and the XP driver.
Although ndiswrapper shows both the driver and hardware being reconised it seems to associate the driver with wlan0 and not eth1?
My gut reaction says that I am close, I reckon I need to get the eth1 or wlan0 interfaces sorted and I should be working. Not being someone to just post stuff without searching, I set about looking for clues.
Everything I am reading says look for /etc/modules.etc and the interfaces file in /etc/network
Only problem is I can't see /etc/modules.inf and I have removed eth1 from interfaces with no joy.
I would be very a very happy windoze convert if anyone could point me in the right direction?
I will keep searching for clues while this post sits here.
Respect,
karloslamchop.
