ORiNOCO MiniPCI wireless card on Debian 3.1

I've got a MiniPCI ORiNOCO card in my laptop now, replaced a Broadcom card that I hated (and that never really worked all that well with ndiswrapper). The new card works fine in Windows. Debian doesn't seem to like it, though. I can successfully load the orinoco_cs module (the one included in 2.6.6, I have a custom kernel), and I'm reasonably sure that's the module I need as the card is listed under the CardBus controller in lspci -v. I can successfully load any wireless module, however, and regardless of which one I load I'm rewarded with no new device--wlan0/eth1/whatever never shows up. Suggestions? What did I forget to configure?
