Arrow Airodump-ng not searching any network


Hi i was trying to crack wep by following this tutorial http://lifehacker.com/5305094/how-to...with-backtrack

So i try started
following i m going to mention the commands with output..

iwconfig

airmon-ng

root@bt:~# ifconfig wlan0 down

macchanger --mac 00:11:22:33:44:55 wlan0

airmon-ng start wlan0
and this time it show me
---> monitor mode enabled on mon0

airodump-ng wlan0

airodump-ng wlan0 it not searching any wify network ... i keep searching for more then 20 minutes but still no result...
on other side in windows same wify usb router serach so many wify connections around me...
plz help me out i try google all the day and in reward i get nothing.. waiting for soon reply from Moderator

Hello,

You're walking a very thin line here. Post about cracking are against the LQ Rules so you'd better have a good reason if you don't want a mod to just close your thread. The article you're referring to mentions that you'll need a wireless network card with 'specific' possibilities. Did you check that your adapter suits those needs?

Airodump-ng not searching any network

yes i checked .... my device drivers are Ralink RT2870/3070
and i have checked in http://www.backtrack-linux.org and it says yes it is compatible with backtrack.
AWUS036NH (Ralink RT2870/3070) - using the mac80211 rt2x00usb drivers - passed

Rockland N3 - (Ralink RT2870/3070) - using the mac80211 rt2x00usb drivers -passed
