if you're main browser is mozilla, you could give mplayer a shot. mplayer has a mozilla plugin that will play in mozilla browsers. the xine plugin isn't all that great. if you must use xine, i'd suggest looking into kaffeine which also has a mozilla plugin, but it will only open up media in kaffeine, but note that kaffeine itself (no extra plugin need be installed) will embed into the konqueror web browser. since i mostly use xine (mplayer doesn't work for me) and konqueror, i installed kaffeine to play all the media stuff in konqueror and use the mozilla kaffeine starter plugin if i use mozilla.
i've got the gxine plugin installed for my firefox, but for some reason it opens a gxine window to play videos that are supposed to be "embedded" in the web page... could someone show me what i have to do to get those embedded videos (like on news sites) to play inside the browser window???
