unable to play vcd on xine media player

hi to the entire group. . .i' am a newbie in linux; my distro is slackware 10.2 and i am having problems playing my vcd/audio cd in xine. . . a message like this prompts me after i click d button play :

"there are no plugins available for vcd;/" - same message goes when i use gxine. .

could someone help me on this?

I got the same error while examining your problem.
This fixed it: (I don't have a VCD next to me right now for testing)
Go to preferences
Under GUI select "Advanced" Experience Level
Under Media->VCD enter your device (eg. /dev/cdrom)
