it couldn't last time i checked. http://mplayerhq.hu can play it (of course) and has a great plugin too.

mplayerplug-in, mozplugger and Plugger come to mind. The Mozilla Development website is the home of mozplugger; go check it out and see if it can work for you.

Hmm. I just used Xine to play a .mov the other day. You might want to check the Xine site and see if there are any drivers you need to get.
