xine all blue no video

when using a external monitor on my laptop (thinkpad t23) I am not able to watch videos.
Instead of seeing the video I get a blue xine window (sound is fine).

I don't have this problem when I start the x server before switching to the external panel. But doing so I don't get the desired resolution on the external panel.

Try using a different video driver from the xine settings.

Are your codecs working fine? I have faced a similar problem only to find out that i don't have the proper codecs. Just downloaded it n it's working fine.
