XINE blue screen!! help!

Ok, I've been choppin away at this dvd thing to no avail. I can get sound with XINE but no video. I am running Redhat 9.0 (shrike) on a Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop; 256MB ram. The video works on the second instance of Xine though. I would love to place some output, but this site is not letting me for some reasone

This makes me think it's just a config problem and not video.
Thanks in advance for the help. I'm really confused!!!!

Try apt with synaptic and install Ogle

Yeah that will be my suggestion. If you want to only watch DVD's , then go ahead and install Ogle.It is a lovely application built for just that purpose. Use apt and synaptic ensure that you have all the dependencies and so you dont get into RPM hell.

I've finally got some video to work. I had to change the video driver used. XINE still doesn't show video unless it's launched twice. Then it works OK, but it is a bit skippy and the sound is crunchy when there is bass. Mplayer seems to be doing the best; launching and running well. (had to change the video driver here too).

What is this "apt" and "synaptic" stuff??

I installed Ogle, but it doesn't work

crap. Anyone know where to get video-card specific drivers for Mplayer. I think that would speed up the video a bit. Although it is working almost perfect now.
