i have installed wine, and it is working fine. After i installed my windows programs though I could only launch them once, on prompt after the install. After that anytime I go to the directory in which they are stored to launch them nothing happens, not even an error messege.
I am running Mandrake 9.1. kde 3.1.

maybe something is causing wine to hang and maybe its still running and then screwing everything up when you try to run something else....so maybe check ps -aux|less and see if it is still running and if so type killall -9 wine and try to run another program and see if that was the problem...you really don't have to type ps -aux|less if you don't want to you can just cut to the chase and killall -9 wine and you'll know it was still running if nothing is printed to the screen, otherwise it will say something like "no process to kill" if its not running.

i cut to the chase and indeed no wine was still running.
Could it be the installation?
