Wine problems

I installed wine earlier on my 10.0 install. All went ok and even installed an emulation shortcut for wine. Installed winamp to test it and manged to open it. Looked nasty so I closed it. Back to the menu its added a Wine folder for the newly created Winamp shortcuts. Followed these and tried to use the uninstaller for Winamp. It sits in the panel looking like its going to uninstall. Eventually it disappears and nothign happens. Seems also that Wine emulation shortcut has now also disappeared. Tried removing and reinstalling the wine RPM which is a success but doesnt solve the problem of nothing working. Ideas on wtf is happening?
