Question Wine problems

Hi all

I'm a complete newbie who needs some help...

this is my third day of running Red Hat 9 and I have most of the basic stuff down. I just recently compiled Wine. The shell is confirming that it is installed (wine , winemaker are now viable commands in the shell), the wine program made a fake C drive and all, but when I tried to install Xp Offices and Internet Explorere I received the error message "need windows OS to load". Did I miss a step? Do I need to get another program? Do I need to edit something?

Please help!

I just read a disturbing post saying that wine-20030709 build might have problems. THIS IS THE BUILD I'M RUNNING !!!

Is this build good or bad?

True, but my point is my wine program is only installing very simplistic programs. Things such as IE 6 and Windows Media Player keep giving me the "Need windows OS error", and I was wondering if I need to download another piece of software or edit a file or something to make the bigger Windows programs load.

Help please....
