wine -- missing winesetup

I tried installing the latest Wine binaries for Slackware 9.1, and when I try to run wine, it says:

wine: failed to initialize: /tmp/package-Wine/usr/lib/wine/ntdll.dll.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I tried running a few other programs with "wine" in the name, and I got this when executing winelauncher, after clicking "configure wine":

Error: unable to find winesetup in your PATH or /opt/bin: I am unable to configure Wine.

blah blah...download winesetup from www.codeweavers.com. I checked there, and can't seem to find the download. I also checked frankscorner.org, but no help there either

thanks in advance for any help.

Oh, and yes, I'm doing this as a normal user.
