When I search "chromium" in Debian-8 it gives both, chromium a browser and chromium-bsu.

Yes, but the game used to be "chromium" and the browser "chromium-browser" and now the browser is installed by default if one installs chromium:
Code:
apt-cache search chromium
chromium - web browser
chromium-dbg - web browser - debugging symbols
chromium-l10n - web browser - language packs
chromium-bsu - fast paced, arcade-style, scrolling space shooter
chromium-bsu-data - data pack for the Chromium B.S.U. game
See my previous link to view the name change happening.

I dual boot Windows 10 and Linux Mint 17.3, mainly using Windows for speech-to-text using Nuance Software's Dragon Naturally Speaking 13 which I find more accurate and easier to use than the inbuilt Windows facility, although the latter is greatly improved in Windows 10. As speech recognition programs of this sort are widely used by people with disabilities, I suspect that Nuance would find a LINUX version profitable.
I have seen posts on forums where some folk have been able to get older versions of Dragon Naturally Speaking working with Wine, but I have had no success with it so far. However, I live in hope.

As to Linux distributions for ms-windows users, Zorin or Linux Mint might be a better choice.

I have spent many hours searching ubuntu, mint and debian forums for work arounds for the Garmin programs and downloads to work with no success.Have also spent much time with wine and its various bits and pieces and have only been able to get partial working from DeLorme topo programs.

You can do that with XMMS and by changing settings and/or skins, with some of
the others.
Amarok, which I'm not particularly fond of, but is liked by many, defaults to an icon
in your system tray when you "close" it. In other words, it plays in the background.
IIRC, Clementine, a fork of Amarok, does something similar.
I've seen plugins that will place the media controls in you system tray, etc.
What you want is available.

OK, I'll give XMMS a try. Thanks!

Hmmm. Might try that. Doesn't really need to be ported, though.

The day I can sit in one spot and remote control my Windows world from Linux is the day I can move to Linux on a semi-permanent way.

As is, I am running Windows as a base with Linux as a VM.

BTW, IF there is a better option, please PM.
