There has been a rampage at my school over this progarm called Waste. Here is the link to the souce and the exe for windows.

I would like to know if someone can look over the source and let me know

1)How secure this program is
2)If it is possible to alter the source to give users write access to other computers
3)How easy it would be to change the file including a virus in it then distributing it
4)Any other information about security issues/hacking issues please let me know

P.S. I am getting this information to help those in my dorm. I have told them that I feel like an open source non checked peer to peer is unsafe and they have asked me to investigate. Tomorrow I plan on looking over the source as well.

So they ask for you to investigate and you come asking us to do it for you here, total and complete strangers who could lie but you'd trust just cause we'd tell you so? That doesn't make sense one bit to me. If your unsure or don't know how to check/read code to understand it, why not use a proprietary or more known P2P program instead.. cause proprietary is always more safe than opensource code..

But sorry, I'm not a programmer and even if I was, I come here to answer technical questions, not review code for others to tell them if it's safe to use or not..
