vsftpd install


I'm trying to install vsftpd.. can anyone make sense of this error?

you seem to be missing a library file (the lcap library)
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3

find the one for your distro and install it with
rpm -Uvh name.rpm

I installed lcap_0.0.6-1_i386.deb

/usr/sbin/lcap is available with same results

did you run ldconfig afterwords? this may help... but if not, you may want to look into finding a precompiled package for vsftpd

ah, well what do you know: here is a page with all sorts of good info about debian and vsftpd
