Hello. I have been trying to ftp video files that play just fine on my ubuntu feisty machine so that I can have them at a second location. I'm just using: ftp (ftp-site). Then it asks for user and pass. Then i get in and can ftp things up. After i upload a video file, it is no longer good. The original still plays fine on the original ubuntu machine, but the one from the ftp server is no good.
The file size is different too. ie. the original for one of my files was 13,975,314 bytes. When i ftp it onto the server, the new size is 14,051,844 bytes. If I copy the file across the network to my windows computer and ftp it from there, it works just fine. The ftp server is my server, but runs windows 2000 (could that somehow be the reason)? Also, i tried other files, like simple text files and they work fine.
What is up with ftp? Also, anyone know another ftp program i can use from the command line? I want to automate these ftp's eventually.
