You usually can't do this... you cannot copy kernel modules from one version of the kernel to another. It seems that sometimes you cannot even copy them between differently compiled versions of the SAME kernel...

You'll need to compile that module against your currently running kernel's source tree (I think) to get it to be "insmoddable" (or "modprobeable") in that currently running kernel.

so what to do now...how to compile that driver in currently running kernel...

i am having zc0301 folder...in this

1.Kconfig
2.Makefile
3.zc0301.h
4.zc0301_core.c
5.zc0301_pas202bcb.c
6.zc0301_pb0330.c
7.zc0301_sensor

with this file how to compile this module?..the content of Makefile is..

zc0301-objs := zc0301_core.o zc0301_pb0330.o zc0301_pas202bcb.o

obj-$(CONFIG_USB_ZC0301) += zc0301.o

You should go into that folder and at the bash prompt type make, e. g.

# make

and then

# make install

OR

You might need to first type

# ./configure
# make
# make install

This should produce the .ko file you'll need to modprobe or insmod - note that I don't know your driver, maybe it does not have an install option, you might need to manually copy the module to your kernel's modules folder?

Is there any documentation that came along with that driver?
