USB trouble on new 2.6 kernel


I had just upgrade the kernel from to 2.4 to 2.6.9 it is working fine but it can see my USB Cd burn (external) , what do i do??? Is it a config probleman??? How i fix this???

that is hard to say without info first you need to try
lsusb does the writer appear here?
lsmod

do you have a driver related to it?

when your plug the writer what do you see happening with
tail -f /var/log/messages ?

may the fact that the dev node has another name (sr0 instead og sc0 maybe)
