USB 2 in Redhat 9
Hi all,
I've managed to configure my external USB hard drive (that isn't supposed to work in Linux!) and it works great. I can plug it in/out and get it mounted perfectly. I've fdisked and formatted it and I can transfer files between my main hard drive and the USB one. However, transfers are extremely slow... around a few hundred kilobytes a second slow. Certainly not USB2 rates.
I assumed that, if Linux supported USB1, it would support USB2 and that it was the hardware that made the difference. I'm CERTAIN that my hardware supports USB2 as I've had windows installed on it previously and that was fine with it.
