streaming music from home pc to work

Hi,

I need to set up a streaming server at home that I can start using a SSH session (meaning, shouldn't use any GUI) and I need to be able to control the songs using a web interface. I had done this a long time back using "dark ice", noxmms and xmmsd. But the noxmms and xmmsd combination was not very stable and looks like they weren't updated in a long time.

So if anyone knows how to set up a streaming server with no GUI but a web interface for control, please let me know. I'm asking for this so that I can listen to my music collection while at work.

Thanks in advance,
Sarav

Personally I use Icecast and find it works great. There are many tutorials out there to make it work but here is the site:
