I just logged into webmin, like I always do, to start apache. When I clicked "start Apache" I was greeted with the following warning:
Warning! Webmin has detected that the program https://127.0.0.1:10000/apache/ was linked to from an unknown URL, which appears to be outside the Webmin server. This may be an attempt to trick your server into executing a dangerous command.
So -- what does this mean? Should I worry? I didn't do anything I don't normally do --

Hi its been a long time, but i remember getting this error when i tried webmin, but not for apache, i think i got it for the mailbox.I believe you could use the "Trust links from unknown referers" options of webmin to get rid of the warning, but as far as the security issues are concerned i don't think i have enough experience in webmin.
read around hope you will able to solve it

I don't start webmin at boot, and I closed the default port with my firewall anyway. For the time being I won't even use it. I'm set up how I want to be right now, anyway -- except if that's a real security issue. I can start apache other ways.
I'm looking at ID right now. I'm setting snort up, and all that. I was going to do this anyway. Now I'll do it today instead of next week.
i'll post any insight I find referring to the issue.
