setup freenx

I'm following the setup instructions at:
http://www.linux-tip.net/cms/content/view/158/6/

except I'm a total linux newbie and am encountering an error.

when I run the
useradd -u 500 -p "*" -s /usr/bin/nxserver nx
command I get the following erroruser

bash: useradd: command not found

I should mention I have installed the rpm's yet.

Please help!!

Oh I'm running mandrake 10.1 w/ kde 3.5 or 3.4 can't remember on a k6-2 500mhz w/ 650mbram

you should install your RPMs first...otherwise there will be no "/usr/bin/nxserver" which is referenced in you useradd step.

Your problem, however, is likely because you're not logged in a root. a non root-privelaged execution of 'useradd' will get the response you're seeing.

cheers

-u is an invalid option... (at least with the version I'm using)

just su to root:
su -
<enter root passwd>
<root># useradd blahblah

turns out the issue I was having was that I was running the su command w/ other commands instead of justing su then after I've provided the password running the commands.

The instructions talk about needing X11R6-contrib I couldn't find this in the Install software section of mandrake config does anybody know where I can download this, I searched on google but found a whole bunch of packages named slightley different and then I got confused.

please help
