Fresh FreeNX setup

Hello, I am running Mandriva 2006 and I have just installed FreeNX. Everything goes well until it comes to loading KDE. It begins (sometimes stalling on the services) and then once it all is initialized, all that is displayed is the bg and a bar on the bottom. Its missing all the menus and all of the icons on the desktop so basically it cant do anything with it. Any help getting the menus back in place would be really appreciated.

Im not sure if you have solved this problem now but have you tried FreeNX with a different desktop manager just to see what exactly is causing the problem?

no i hadnt, however it actually was caused by being logged into the machine locally and then trying to log into it through nx on the same account. so just logging out fixed it. thanks for the reply though.
