saa7134 installing on debian; videodev

Hello there,
  • - Debian3r3 is running on an 800MHz-P4 with kernel 2.6.8
    - compiling of mplayer with mp3-support ran well
    - videos can be watched, mp3s be listened
    - lsdvd is compiled successfull
    - Medion TV-Card "Tevion MD9717" with Philips Tuner (it's saa7134 card=6)
    - lsmod shows things like this:
    Code:
    video_buf 20356 1 saa7134
    v4l2_common 6400 1 saa7134
    v4l1_compat 13572 1 saa7134
    i2c_core 22416 1 saa7134
    ir_common 5124 1 saa7134
    videodev 9856 1 saa7134
I just want to compile kdetv. Firstly, I installed kdetv via apt-get and it ran, but there's just one device: !divx4linux! and whatever I do, I just got this device and when I'm running the channel searcher, selecting the right list (europe-west), no channel even can be found.

Well that isn't a kdetv-issue, I think, cause I've gotto install my driver, but how? I can't even find good howto's in english about that thing.

How can I install these drivers to debian? What are these files for? I thought I don't need them with Kernel 2.6.8? Hmm...
Thanks for all advises, now the files:

a part of the output of './configure' during configuring the kdetv-source:
Code:
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: check for missing prerequisite headers?
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: section "Present But Cannot Be Compiled"
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: in the future, the compiler will take precedence
configure: WARNING: ## ------------------------------------------ ##
configure: WARNING: ## Report this to the AC_PACKAGE_NAME lists. ##
configure: WARNING: ## ------------------------------------------ ##
the whole log-file config.log

/etc/modules (the whole file):
Code:
ide-cd
ide-generic
/etc/modprobe.conf doesn't exist.

You're missing the module saa7134, the main one for your video device. If you have a stock Debian kernel try 'modprobe saa7134' as root. If you compile your own kernel, you'll have to add it as a module under device drivers->multimedia devices->video for linux->philips saa7134. The kdetv from apt-get should work fine once you get this module in.
