Running 2+ window managers simultaneously? 1 screen, 1 X-server.

Question's in the title really, basically I was wondering whether it's possible to run more than one window manager on one X concurrently.

Example: running KDE and Blackbox at the same time, and being able to switch between them the same way I'd switch to a different console ([Ctrl+]Alt+F7 for one, [Ctrl+]Alt+F8 for the other, for example.)

Running Slackware 10.2, X11 6.8.2.

Many thanks,

J.

yes, you can.

I currently boot to KDM and am logged in on KDE.
I:
ctrl-alt-F2
xwmconfig (picked xfce4)
startx -- :1

and then I could toggle back between ctrl-atl-F7 (KDE) & ctrl-alt-F8 (xfce4)

I'm sure you could expound on my basic example and get fancy.
answered your question?
Good luck!
