Any suggestions for getting the Hulu player to work? I keep getting "Sorry, unable to load the player. Please check your internet connection, clear your cache and try again." Done, done and done. It fails in Firefox 24.4.0, Seamonkey and Opera.
I've read the following solutions:
turning off all flashblocker programs (done),
upgrading Flash (running the most current available 11.2.202.359-x86_64-1gv),
installing Chrome (not in the repository),
installing seamonkeyso.lib (done),
and using Windows/IE through Wine or Chrome through wine (don't have Windows, Wine is over my head).
dose not hulu depend on the Microsoft Silverlight for the DRM
and a user agent that replies Internet Explorer 11 and windows 7 or8
No. You're thinking of Netflix. I don't have wine-pipelight on my PCLinuxOS and go to Hulu all the time to watch their ads and brief clips of TV shows or movies.
tigerflag: I beleive the reason you were asked to open the browser in a terminal was to see if there was any output which might indicate an error or some message which would give some useful info. Open the browser and go to hulu and when it fails, close the browser window and check the terminal. Might be nothing there, but...?
Works in FF 28.0 and Chromium 35.0.1916.47. Have you tried to start your browser in a terminal?
Tried it. Same result with no output from the terminal. What version of Flash does FF v28 use, because AFAIK I'm using the last supported version of Flash. Is there something else different about FF 28?
According to that link my system should be adequate. Running Flash v.11.2.202.359-x86_64-1gv in Firefox 24.4. All plugins disabled. Cache cleared. I don't know why it's not working in Firefox, Midori or Opera.
Stress Test was installing Hulu TV on my EEEPC 701 with AntiX 8.5 Full Iso with a 7" screen. I keep this netbook updated though with latest libs over time since original install with apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade and have the correct video drivers installed also via smxi script.
