I have done a reinstall once now and started from scratch, i have installed xine and after the first time i close the program i never can open it again. When i try to open or do any commands i get a Segmentation Error
by reinstall i take it you mean xine, and not your whole system. there is a hidden file in your home directory called .xine...remove that and try starting it again...see if that helps
also yes, i removed xine and reinstalled it to no luck i also did a format and reinstalled the whole system again. It only took like 30 minutes so i wasnt that worried
try removing the hidden file .xine (note the dot in front of it...) from your home directory, and start xine again, and see if you still get the seg fault.
you might want to look into YUM for handling all of your dependancies etc. this will make life much simpler on you as a newbie. i know it did for me when i was running RH9.
